great way to cook liver, easy and very tasty! great way to cook liver, easy and very tasty!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1/4 cup pecans
    1 LB. beef liver
    1/4 tsp cloves
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    salt
    pepper
    1 Tbls. olive oil

Directions

toast pecans, set aside
carmelaize onion slices for 10 minutes
add half od cloves to onions, set aside
season beef liver with salt, pepper, remaining cloves
cook beef liver about 2 minutes each side, leave pink in the middle, set aside
return onions, balsamic vinegar and cloves to pan, heat through
top liver with onion mixture
serves 4

    There's no onion listed- use one medium? Are the cloves whole, or ground (probably ground?) I'll try this and come back with a report on what I did and how it worked. - 6/13/12

    Incredible!
    THANK YOU for this SUPER recipe...It almost eliminates the objectionable smell of cooking liver, and the balsamic vinegar & onion eliminates that icky aftertaste that can sometimes make liver objectionable to some people...Sweet & tangy, how good it was to eat! I used 5 spice instead of gr. cloves. - 11/24/10
