Introduction
Cooked grains with a serving of fruit Cooked grains with a serving of fruitNumber of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
1 c organic rolled oats
1/2 c organic quinoa
1/4 c Kasha or cracked buckwheat (organic)
1/4 c organic cracked rye
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c dried chopped dates
2-2.5 c water
Directions
2 cups of water per cup of grains (mix and match to suit taste) I like quinoa and add rye and buckwheat together to equal the amount of rolled oats.
Water and grains in a pot to cooke about 20 mins of until all water os soaked up, thick like porridge.
Add 1/2 & 1/2 raisins, dates (or you could add dried apricots or dried namgo or banan chips - that would change the nutritional content) in last 5-10 minutes of cooking.
Serve warm.
You Could add honey or maple syrup if you want it sweeter, but the dates add enough for me.
I put 1/2 cup in a baggie, or other container and warm with a bit more hot water each morning.
This recipe makes 8 servings of 1/2 c each = plenty for the whole week.
