Ingredients

    500g Braising Steak
    1 tbsp olive oil
    200g shallots
    200g mushrooms
    1 large carrot sliced
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    2tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
    125ml beef stock
    125ml red wine
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp oregano

Directions

1. Brown beef and remove from pan
2. Heat oil and add shallots, mushrooms, garlic and carrots
3. Once browned, stir in flour
4. Add stock & wine and heat until sauce thickens
5. Add beef, bay leaf and oregano
6. Cook at 175 for 2 hours, or 4-5 hours in a slow cooker
