Introduction

This is a variation on my mom's recipe. I've made it for the slow cooker and added lots more veggies. This is a variation on my mom's recipe. I've made it for the slow cooker and added lots more veggies.

Ingredients

    ! pkg Stew beef (usually just over a lb)
    4 Stalks Celery
    1 cup sliced carrots
    2 lrg red potatos
    Make 2 cups beef stalk
    1/4 cup flour
    2 tbsp flour (for thickening later)
    1.5 tbsp oil
    1 tbsp parsley
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp dried onion
    3/4 cup barley (uncooked)

Directions

Chop and prep veggies and add to water and beef stalk.
Cube the stew beef and coat in 1/4 cup flour and salt and pepper.
Fry the beef so the outside is seared (with the oil) but don't allow the beef to cook through.
Add beef to veggies and let cook.

Add spices and barley in the last hour of cooking.
Take 2tbsp of flour and combine with 1/2 cup water, stir and add to mixture to thicken.

Should cook on high for 4-5 hours in slow cooker.
