Introduction

I wanted to try to make burgers the same way I remember my mother making meatloaf when we were young. I am really impressed with how these turned out and will probably not buy frozen veggie burgers again. This makes a nice big, thick burger. Ingredients



    * *Gimme Lean Sausage or Beef Style, 1 package
    (the sausage style results in a spicier burger)
    * Onions, raw, 1 medium finely chopped
    * Rolled Oats, 1 cup
    * Sage, ground, 1 tsp or more according to your taste
    * Garlic powder, 1 tsp
    * Hunt's Ketchup, 4 tbsp
    * Salt, 1 tsp

Directions

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. I found it easiest to use my hands. Shape into 4 large patties and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. It's important that the patties are heated all the way through since Gimme Lean does not taste very good unless hot. Serve however you prefer your burgers. I topped mine with some vegan cheese, vegenaise, ketchup and a big handful of field greens.
