Introduction

Continuing my quest for making my favorite recipes healthier. I bring to you sweet and sour meatballs. These are the perfect party food, or great for those days just laying around the house. Continuing my quest for making my favorite recipes healthier. I bring to you sweet and sour meatballs. These are the perfect party food, or great for those days just laying around the house.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1lb 93% turkey
    2 green onions
    1 tbs ginger
    1/2 tbs black pepper
    2 egg whites
    8 oz crushed pineapple
    1/4 c splenda brown sugar
    1 1/2 tbsp corn starch
    1/4 cup white vinegar
    1/2 cup pepper strips

Directions

1. mix in a large bowl, mix turkey,green onions,ginger,pepper, and egg whites together

2. shape into 1" balls, place on cookie sheet, cover with foil and spray with fat free cooking spray. Set oven to 350 and bake meatballs for 15 mins.

3. Next strain pinapple into measuring cup, add water if needed to equal 1 cup. In a skillet add that juice, pepper strips, splenda brown sugar, vinegar, and cornstarch for thickening and stir about 4 min. til thickens

4. Mix in meatballs and pineapple.Cover and simmer 10 min

makes 8 servings (2 meatballs)

    what is the measurement for the corn syrup and brown sugar??? none listed. - 3/10/10

    There's no corn sytup in the recipe, and 1/4 C @Splenda brown sugar = 1/2 C regural brown sugar
