The Pepsi tenderizes the meat in this recipe so that the roast is fork tender, and the combination of ingredients makes its own gravy so this is a time saver for the busy cook. It doesn't have a Pepsi flavor when it is done but it is sooo good. I use the left over meat and gravy the next day to make beef stroganoff
