Awesome recipe. I change mine up a bit. I use maple-flavored bacon and add 1/2 tsp minced garlic. I also eliminate the sugar and vinegar. My husband is from the midwest and believes the term "bean" only refers to green beans :). He loves this recipe and so we use it often.
