The story is not apocryphal, it is fact. "Puttanesca" in Italian means "In the style of the prostitute". When I make this I use fresh tuna (because my family won't eat anchovies) and fresh tomatoes (to reduce sodium intake). Plum tomatoes are best; you need about two pounds. Thanks for sharing!
