Great Spicy Recipe! I like wimpy spice chili (and have severe heartburn issues with regular) so I just cut back on spices.
I used: 4 cloves garlic, 1 T chili powder, 1 t. cumin, No cayenne, 1/2 t. pepper and 1/4 to 1/2 t. sugar. It was perfect for me and my mom. Hubby added more spice to his.
I made a mild version so that children can enjoy it too.
I did not add any cayenne pepper, and used just one tablespoon of chilli powder. Had to add extra salt, to taste.
Yum! For more fiber, I put in grated zucchini. So good!!!!
This was a really good chili...but very spicy! If you don't like heat--beware! My husband adds hot sauce to everything...he didn't with this one! We added an extra can of beans just to bump up the fiber...will make this again!
I like to cook my own beans and save a little on the sodium, which I fight constantly.

Thanks for sharing!
