Introduction
This is a very basic tuna salad to use for sandwiches or to top a green salad. Milk replaces part of the mayo to reduce the fat and sodium content slightly. We like a lot of green onion, but you can add more celery to give it body and 'crunch' if you want. This is a very basic tuna salad to use for sandwiches or to top a green salad. Ingredients
-
6 5-ounce cans tuna (in water), drained
1 cup green onions
1/2 cup celery, diced fine
4 tbsp mayonnaise
3 tbsp milk
1 tbsp stone-ground mustard
1.5 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
Salt (to taste - I don't use any!)
Directions
Drain tuna well, put in bowl. Add in finely-chopped green onions and celery, then put in mayo/milk. On top of that add the mustard and sweet pickle relish, then the spices. Stir together the liquid ingredients on top of the tuna, then mix it all together well. Serve.
