Ingredients

    2-3 cups whole wheat rotini pasta
    1lb turkey ground
    1/2 llb ground sausage
    1 15 oz can diced unsalted tomatoes
    1 15 oz can unsalted tomato sauce
    1 4 oz can unsalted tomato sauce (if needed)
    1/2 onion
    3 garlic cloves
    1 tsp sea salt
    1 tbls pepper
    2 tbsp garlic powder
    2 tbsp oregano
    2 bay leaves


Directions

Ground up ground turkey and ground breakfast sausage add seasonings along with diced onions and diced onion cloves and bay leaves. Let meat brown. Once meat has browned add canned tomatoes and tomato sauce. Allow flavors to simmer for about 20 minutes then add pasta and let cook for about 20 minutes or until pasta is soft. Makes approx. 10-15 1/2 cup servings. Great meal for pot lucks and leftovers. Add in ideas: Add corn, okra or any vegitables you desire.

    This was very tasty, however mine came out with a much thicker consistency than pictured. It reminded me a little of beef-a-roni, but much healthier and more flavorful! - 11/23/10
