Super easy-just seemed like it took forever for the nuts to roast (I'm an impatient cook!)! But my husband liked them! And they make great gifts! Oh-I used olive oil instead-worked great. Thank you! - 12/21/08

I changed the conola oil to Olive as I wanted to make this a bit healthier, but the almonds had an excellent taste from the spices. Love it!!!!!! - 6/18/09

My whole family Loved this! I made it for Christmas gifts, and for my self too. I did use some walnuts I had on hand too, and it worked Great with them too. I then cooked ground beef in the skillet with all the spices left in it. Oh my. - 1/14/09

Maybe use garlic powder instead of garlic salt? Sodium count is a bit high for that small of a serving. - 6/18/08

I would roast almonds dry -without the oil as suggested - and add a little squeeze of lemon juice at the end to help the salt and spices stick. put them back in the oven that you have switched off to dry out; it adds a little tang! I have also tried ground coriander / cilandro for mild spicing. - 6/14/09

This was great. Almost to good. Since I like walnuts more I would never try it because I would not be able to stop myself from eating every last bite after I tripled the recipe. Yum - 12/15/08

Cut the oil [no need to toast the nuts in oil!] do it in a dry pan or in the oven, then toss in spices and follow recipe, simple and cuts fat considerably, and you get a tasty snack. - 6/18/08

Greener alternative to cooling on aluminum foil is to cool on a baking sheet or almost any other container except plastic. I find it easy to over indulge in yummy nuts. One way to avoid this is to measure out the nuts in the equivalent of the number of calories I'm allowing for a snack. - 6/18/09

Dinarly, you don't have to worry about Canola oil. The information in the link you posted is distorted. Please see: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/canol
