Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1/2 cup tahini
    3 lemons, juiced and zested
    1 T toasted sesame oil
    1/4 cup chopped parsley
    2 scallions, chopped
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1 t sriracha (hot sauce--optional)
    up to 1/2 cup water
    salt and pepper to taste

Tips

Try this with my baked falafel.
If you don't have tahini, grind 1/2 cup raw white sesame seeds in a blender with a couple of tablespoons of water at a time until you reach a pourable consistency.

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until smooth, adding water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

Each serving is one tablespoon.

Tahini is sesame seed butter. Along with olive oil, garlic, and lemon, tahini is a prime ingredient in hummous (garbanzo bean dip) and baba ghanouzh (roasted eggplant dip). This recipe sounds great and I will be making it as soon as I can. - 3/19/12

adding water to the sesame seeds when you blend them will change the consistancy of the dressing and make the resulting sauce more vulnerable to spoilage if you have left overs.

Really tasty! I made this with the falafel as recommended and, also didn't bother with a food processor. Might add other seasonings and a little more water or lemon juice in the future to make it a little thinner & lower calorie. - 3/28/12

Delicious! Haven't seen a recipe for Tahini in a long time! Thanks! Also great to mix in one tablespoon with "Israeli Salad" -- chopped cucumber, tomato and onion seasoned with lemon juice and a little bit of salt! - 1/20/13

This rocks! I can't tolerate much heat, but I have friends who love it. So I made this in two versions - mild and hot, and we ate it up with veggies and pita. - 3/30/12

Couldn't be easier if you tried. Tahini can be found inexpensively in Middle Eastern or Mediterranean groceries. I sprinkle extra lemon zest and zahtar (white sesame seeds, sumac, thyme) for a bit of flavour. Add more to pita bread and you have a great snack. - 3/19/12

This sounds great! I will definitely make it. Great way to use up my tahini. Tahini is a sesame paste you can get at most stores. It looks like the serving size is 1 tablespoon. It is listed at the end of the directions. Thanks for the recipe! - 2/14/12

THis is great for veggies and great as a salad dressing. It is a bit tangy thus a little goes a long way. Makes a great vegan tartar sauce for fish or fish tacos. The hand processer gives a nice creamy texture and an hour in the fridge solidifies it. I will add water if needed as I use it. - 2/24/13

This is excellent with raw cauliflower to dip. It's kind of a pain to make though, because Tahini is so sticky. - 5/21/12

I leave the oil out since I'm mostly oil free. It's a very tangy dressing, I love it. I use it on pita bread sandwiches , falafel, burritos, burgers, and as a salad dressing (thinned with more water). - 2/23/18

I love this with raw veggies, but I use sparingly and do not use the hot sauce. I love the tartness of the lemons, too! - 3/19/13

Sounds wonderful, but I aim for more food for 6.5 grams of fat per serving. I don't think I could stop at 1 Tb, less than the picture I'd bet.
