Ingredients

    • 4 whole wheat tortillas
    • 1/4 cup fat free cream cheese
    • 8-12 spinach leaves, washed and dried
    • 1/2 cup grated carrots

Directions

1. Let the cream cheese come to room temperature. Whip with a mixer, or by hand, to make it easier to spread.

2. Using a spatula or knife, spread about 1 tablespoon cream cheese on each tortilla, making sure to reach the edges.

3. Put several spinach leaves in the center of the tortilla and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of carrots.

4. Roll tortilla tightly; secure with a toothpick.

5. Cut the tortilla into pinwheels by cutting it in half first, then making bite-sized slices along the tortilla until you reach the end. Lay each piece cut-side down on a serving plate.

This recipe is fast and tastes great. Instead of plain cream cheese, I use fat free veggie flavored and a slice of turkey or chicken lunchmeat. - 6/19/09

This recipe gives a nutritiouts and low cal alternative to one with white tortillas and gobs of cream cheese. Mixing it up with salsa, thinly sliced tomatoes, onion or whatever chopped fruit or vegetables (just a little) gives endless possibilities. Great recipe! Thanks! - 6/19/09

This was a big hit at a Christmas Party, however, I put the carrots on the cream cheese and then the spinach. This gives the carrots something to adhere too and they do not fall out when your guests pick them up to eat. It also was very good with some finely chopped jalapeno chiles in them. - 1/19/09

I used this recipe for my daughter's graduation. But, instead of cutting up the tortillas, I cut the rounded corners off and tied the wrap with a ribbon in her school colors. Everyone loved the little "diplomas". - 6/19/08

I've found a wonderful square bread, Joseph's Lavash bread, at BJ's (like a Sam's Club) and I believe our WalMart used to carry it. Only 100 cal for a whole sheet. Also the Laughing Cow makes a great spreadto use for flavor instead of the cream cheese. A very filling lunch or snack. - 8/27/09

These are great! Add diced jalepeno's if you want them to bite. Delete the veggies and add diced fruits for a refreshing light snack. They're very versatile and yummy. Use carb/low fat/whatever king of tortillas you want and the same for the cream cheese. You can even use the flavored cream chz. - 8/27/09

Good recipe for a quick appetizer or snack, and endless possibilities as to variations. Rememer, a lot of recipes are NOT written in stone, you add, delete, or change any way you want. One Q: when you say to cut in half, do you mean lengthwise, or just in the middle of the roll? Just curious... - 12/16/08

I am addicted to cream cheese and haven't had any since I started SP. I am not a fan of fat free cream cheese but I will try this recipe and see if I like it. Someone below mentioned artichokes, someone else mentioned thinly sliced tomato. I would definitely need somethings besides spinach/carrot - 5/30/09
