Introduction

Double serving of fried rice for any side dish. Double serving of fried rice for any side dish.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

1 cup of Uncle Ben's Instant Whole Grain Brown Rice (already made according to package recipie)
    1/2 Tbsp of Soy Sauce
    2 tsp of Splenda
1/3 cup of Water (room Tempature is fine)
    1 Scrambled egg

Directions

Prepare 1 cup of Uncle Ben,s instant whole grain brown rice (I usually half the recipe). Set aside.

Add water, splenda, and soy sauce in separate cup and mix. Set Aside.

Spray non stick frying pan with PAM buttery spray. Scrable egg as you normally would (also if desired add finely chopped green onions here). Keep Frying pan hot.

Pour Rice over Eggs.

Quickly stir water soy and splenda so that splenda does not stay settled on the bottom. Then pour over rice. (If done right the water should boil as it is poured on the rice). Stir all ingrediants in the pan. Water mixture should cook into the rice quickly. When the rice is coated well and water mixture is mostly gone place on plate, and it is ready to serve with whatever other dish you are having.

I have not tried this with large numbers of servings and I do not know if it would work.

This was good. I'm a sugarholic anyway and it satisfied that light sweetness that I like with a lot of my food. it was good just the way it was but when I make it again, I'll add a few veggies for texture. - 10/15/12

    Incredible!
I really like this recipe! It was perfect along side the Honey Garlic pork chops. I used 1/3 of the Splenda because it was too sweet for me. I used one cup of the rice - dry. And, I'm wondering if it was supposed to be one cup of the rice - cooked? - 7/18/11

    O.K.
It was a little too bland for my taste. maybe with some veggies or chicken thrown in it would be a little more appealing? - 5/10/10

Great recipe - tasted like real fried rice! I too added some extra soy sauce. I also added frozen peas and carrots while cooking the egg. Letting the rice cook even a little longer than after the water is gone gives it that extra crunch of fried rice. Awesome! - 8/11/08

Total flop. Maybe because I trippled the receipe? Maybe because I used cooked long grain brown rice instead of Uncle Ben's Instant Whole Grain Brown? Probably won't try it again, darnit, it sounded so good! - 4/6/08
