Great alternative to macaroni and cheese and just as easy to make as the boxed stuff. Serving size is large (yay) and super filling. I felt good giving this to my 1-year old and she loved it too! I had light sour cream I had to use up so I used that instead of the yogurt. - 12/11/13

A great recipe. I enjoy anything that incorporates the healthy, beneficial spice Tumeric and quinoa. Tumeric is a natural anti-inflamatory, it’s also a natural liver detoxifier that aids the metabolism of fat in our system. Just can’t go wrong with this combo. - 5/16/13

I LOVE this recipe. It was quick to make and is so delicious! I didn't have any dijon mustard so I looked up what to substitute. Ask.com said to use tumeric, garlic powder and chili powder. So I added more tumeric, and a few shakes of the other two. It was great. - 2/17/14

It would have been better if the yogurt is cut in half...all we tasted was the yogurt and none of the seasoning or the cheese. - 4/28/13

I was hesitant, but really impressed. Whole grain, protein and fiber to keep you full and it tastes great! I added a little Lawry's season salt - 4/1/13

Just made this. No turmeric available (will buy some for future use). Used sour cream instead of yogurt. This is really good. Gonna throw in some vegetables with the leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. - 6/29/14

Very interesting texture and flavor. I liked it and will probably make it again but I definitely added salt and I sprinkled some rosemary in it for extra flavor. I think I might add some canned tomatoes and maybe some onion next time to get some veggies in. Thanks for sharing! - 2/23/14

Quinoa tastes like stinkbugs smell, regardless of the amount of spice, cheese, yogurt, ketchup, etc. you mix in with it. BLEAH. - 3/25/14

Quinoa is so versatile! I add it into my oatmeal (1/2 and 1/2 with some cinnamon and splenda and it is delish! I use it as a substitute for rice in dishes as well, like stuffed peppers, etc. For those who may think it had a bad taste, if it did, you needed to wash it. Buy it prewashed, it's great! - 3/25/14

I've used quinoa for a number of years and have introduced a number of people to it. I tell them to soak it for a couple minutes swirling it around now and again and then rince, rince, rince it like you're washing spinach! It's yummy. I've made something similar to this... it's a staple for me! - 1/26/15

This is delicious! I made it for the first time yesterday, halving the recipe and adding sautéed onion, zucinni and a couple of peppedews. I planned to take it to work for lunch twice this week. Easy to make and really good! It is going to go into regular rotation for me now....love it! - 7/7/14

I would have never thought to make mac and cheese with quinoa, but I absolutely loved this! I made it exactly like your recipe and it is going into the "favorites" basket. I love the tang from the yogurt, the bite from the mustard... perfect! Thank you! - 10/25/15

Very good! This one's a keeper!
First time making, so didn't add any veggies. I goofed up by letting the quinoa rest the norm 5 mins instead of promptly mixing in the ingredients per the recipe so cheese and yogurt cooled the whole thing a little. May decrease mustard a bit next time.

The first time I prepared it, used 2% mexican cheese blend, but it really needs the sharp cheddar. Also added some salt to the quinoa while cooking. With the salt and sharp cheddar, it's much better and makes a great side dish (generous & filling) to replace mac & cheese or potatoes - 6/14/15

I used orzo and honey mustard. The orzo absorbed the yogurt very quickly leaving it too dry for me. I added tomatoes, cucumbers, and kalamata olives which really enhanced it! It's a good use for plain yogurt though! - 4/4/13

Pasta would definitely soak up more moisture than quinoa. Glad you were able to doctor it up to your liking! :)

I decided that this lacked colour and since, my children are both adults, I added bell peppers, onions, coriander leaves, chickpeas - akin to a tabbouleh salad and topped with both cheese and dukkah. - 4/19/20
