I make something similar, but without any water, and the gravy is thicker. You can do the same with a pot roast of beef as well. Or use tomato soup instead of the mushroom soup, for pork chops or a beef pot roast. Great with mashed potatoes. - 6/13/09

I make this all the time. I substitute the Lipton's soup mix with my own copycat version. Here is the link:

I have this cooking right now. I used 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup. golden mushroom lipton soup mix and thin pork loin chops. It smells great - I can't wait until dinner! - 1/10/09

The pork was tender and the flavor was good. If I make it again, I would reduce the water, to maybe a cup or less. The sauce was very runny. - 3/9/10

I do this with pot roast but use only 1 cup of water. I large slices of carrots and large chunks of potatoes. A whole meal in one pot. - 2/25/10

This looks good, but I'd like to know how to lower the sodium. Too bad Lipton doesn't make a low sodium version. If they did, it would probably lack flavor! - 1/27/09

I'm want to try this. Just want to make a comment about watery vs. not watery. It might depend on your slow cooker. Mine seems to burn stuff if I don't put a whole lot of liquid, so I would base the water on how your crockpot usually performs. Just a thought... - 9/12/11

Quick, easy, tasty and the house STILL smells great hours later. I used 1/2 envelope of onion soup and it still had plenty of flavor. Also cut down the water and used 98% fat free soup to reduce calories and fat. - 10/15/10

If you use campbells golden mushroom soup instead of the regular, there is so much flavor that you don't need the onion soup mix. - 12/17/12

I just threw this in my slow cooker without the soup mix, some raw onion, original Mrs. Dash and low sodium cream of mushroom soup. I think it'll be great! Thanks for the ideas! - 3/14/11

This was just OK for me :( I didn't have cream of mushroom so I used cream of chicken. Just seemed a little bland for my taste. I served it over brown rice and made green beans. - 1/12/11

VERY GOOD! PORK CHOPS FALL APART TENDER BUT NOT DRY. DO NEED TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF WATER. I USED CREAM OF BROCOLLI SOUP BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF MUSHROOM AND IT WAS REALLY GOOD SERVED OVER RICE. - 8/12/10

This recipe is great, especially for working people! I also added a can of low-fat cream of chicken soup because we had more pork chops than the recipe called for. The pork chops were so incredibly tender. I will definitely be making this more! :) - 7/18/10

My whole family enjoyed these. I took some of the liquid out of the crock pot and put it in a saucepan on the stove and added a mixture of corn starch and water to thicken it up into gravy. My son, who is 5, had three helpings. - 2/10/09

This recipe need quite a bit of tweaking...It was bland, the sauce was way too runny - and it just lacked in the flavor dept! I would double the soup, only use 2 cups of water, and I would add a little worcester or soy sauce and some mushrooms....I wont make this again unless I add to it. - 1/23/09

The pork was very tender, and the flavor was good. I would have liked a thicker gravy, and a little more flavor. I added chopped carrots and potatoes and they were delicious and also very tender. I would probably make it again, but tweak the recipe to make a thicker gravy. The best part-very simple! - 1/18/09

This was pretty good. Husband loved it, daughter not so much. Maybe next time I won't use 3/4 inch thick center cut no bone pieces. Oddly enough the meat seemed dry even though it was surrounded by the lucious gravy. Thinner cut might work better. Will definitely make again. Great crockpot meal! - 7/30/08

This is a great recipe. Sometimes I skip the onion and the cream of mushroom and use the Golden Mushroom soup. It's quite a different taste, but delicious. - 7/6/08
