This was better than I thought it would be! It made the house smell great and came out like a spicy southwest potato chowder. Light and still filling. Very good! - 6/19/08

This was very good. I loved a store brand pre made soup packet. But I've been trying to cut out processed foods, and this is a great alternative. Even better, actually. Super easy and delicious! I added a whole green pepper too. - 2/9/13

I used what I had on hand; 3 chicken breasts, 1/2butternut squash in place of the potato. Added some leftover roasted veggies, doubled the garlic and beans and added a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes! Super fantastic and we got 10 one cup servings with lower cals! Thanks for the great base recipe! - 9/26/11

I added this to my favorites. It's low in calories I beleive, because it is a soup not a casserole dish. The counts seem about right to me. We love balck beans and this is it. I'm growing black beans in our garden! - 6/12/08
