Introduction

This is the best recipe. We love it. This is the best recipe. We love it.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

4 serving Ramen Noodles, Oriental flavor
    1 cup, chopped Cabbage, fresh
1 cup, strips or slices Carrots, raw
    3 clove Garlic
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
1 cup, strips Green Peppers (bell peppers)
    16 oz Ground beef, lean
1 tbsp Kikkoman Lite Soy Sauce
    0.50 cup Bean sprouts
3 tbsp Kikkoman Lite Soy Sauce

Tips

Recipe was originally on recipezaar.com by Nimz. Note: The sodium content looks really high, but you don't use the seasoning packet in the Ramen noodles, so it is actually much lower than stated.

Directions

In a large skillet or wok, brown ground beef and set aside to drain on paper towels.
Add chopped onions and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes or until onions are soft.
Add 2 - 4 tbls. soy sauce.
Add carrots and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add cabbage & red bell pepper.
Stir-fry on medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender. (We like ours crisp so you may want to cook longer).
Prepare Ramen noodles as directed on package, drain, and toss with a little olive oil to keep them from sticking together (do not add the seasoning packets).
Add ground beef and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the vegetable mixture and cook at medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until meat is heated through.
Add bean sprouts and Ramen noodles to meat and vegetable mixture and stir fry 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Serve with extra soy sauce to taste.

This was a really good recipe. When I first made it, it seemed sort of bland, so I used teriyaki marinade instead of soy sauce and added 1/4 tsp 5-spice pdr, 2Tsp beef bouillion powder and 1/2 tsp of sesame oil. My famioly thought the second batch had a really good flavor.

This was by far the best recipe I have tried from sparkpeople! Thanks so much for sharing. I did not change a thing and will be adding this to my regular rotation. - 6/5/10

Just to let you know those little packs of ramen are FRIED. Not sure if most people realize this. Rice noodles might be a better substitute. I'd also use a low sodium bullion cube instead of the seasoning packet. Fry the veggies with beef instead of bacon. Good idea for a place to start though. - 3/26/13

I changed the noodles to soba.. did thin beef strips cut into small pieces.. added frozen stir fry veggies which is carrots, red/green pepper, pea pods, then my own chinese cabbage and a bit of the teriyaki sauce and it is very good. easy and good..better the next day I thought.. watch portions as w - 8/8/10

My first recipe I have tried from Sparkpeople! We received a cabbage (I rarely buy one) & needed to find a way to use it. I searched & searched thru the recipes here & chose this unique on. My picky husband said it was one of the best meals I have made in a while! I didn't add all the veggies. - 10/20/09

In the words of the lady: Banging! Elaborate and easy enough to follow / get ingredients for. I replaced the meat and bean sprouts with unsalted peanuts (crushed) and spinach (raw). Also mixed sriracha in with the soy sauce and added salt / pepper for a deeper spice. - 9/2/18
