Ingredients

    3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
    4 thick-cut boneless pork chops
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
    1/4 cup water

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 C).
2. Heat olive oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Place pork chops in the skillet, and brown about five minutes on each side. Remove from heat.
3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and pepper. In another small bowl, mix tomato sauce and mustard.
4. Arrange pork chops in a medium baking dish (I use a 7X11-inch dish). Sprinkle with lemon juice, season with brown sugar mixture, and cover with tomato sauce mixture. Pour water into the baking dish.
5. Cover, and bake one hour in preheated oven to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
Sauce can be used as a dip for French bread.

Serves 4.

I did not have the tomato sauce so I used a 1/2 jar of pizza sauce that was left over. Put the sauce over 1/2 cup pasta. It was really good and will make again with tomato sauce for sure! - 10/27/11

This was a lot better than I thought it would be. I loved the sweet tangy flavor with the tomato! It was very unexpected! - 4/25/10

This recipe is simple. The 1 1/2" chops were very moist even though I cut off all the visible fat before cooking. Using a baking dish just large enough to hold the browned chops kept the sauce from spreading too thin. Brown Sugar Twin cut some calories. Will definately make again. - 1/11/10

This was very good and the chops were so tender which was suprising and the sauce was very tasty. I really enjoyed this and will definitely make it again. - 10/6/09

Tad too much pepper and needed salt for the final product but overall very delicious. The leftovers tasted just as good. - 10/8/10

I make something like this but I add more spice, (like chili powder, garlic amongst other things) and dice up some onions and peppers and throw them in oh and I make mine with a little ketchup as opposed to pasta sauce. Very good :) - 9/28/10

I've made this one before and we thought it was pretty good. There are a lot of modifications to ingrediant amounts that we want to make- but an excellent jumping off point! - 9/30/09

    O.K.
I guess its all in how you cook on a daily basis but I found it to have very little taste. My son looked at me and grinned I asked why he was grinning, he said this doesnt have any taste. Was easy however and I suppose a good go to in a pinch - 1/16/09

I used nonstick spray instead of olive oil to save calories. This dish was delicious. My kids really liked it. - 1/16/09

My mom and I really liked it! I made a few low calorie changes, I sprayed the pan to brown the pork chops with nonstick cooking spray, I used another user's idea and put sliced apples underneath the pork chops and I didn't have tomato sauce so I used the same amount with catsup. very tasty! - 12/12/08

We loved this recipe at our house! Sweet, but peppery, and the pork was tender. We had it over egg noodles. A definite one to cood again. - 11/17/08

It was easy, which I like, and it tasted good with the juice drizzled on it, but it wasn't very flavorful. - 10/11/08

This dish was all right but I didn't think it had too much flavor but I must have done something wrong judging from all the other reviews. Thank you anyway for the recipe. - 10/2/08

This was so good! Most of my family liked it. We didn't have leftovers. The sauce was great, the dish tasted like pork with sweet BBQ sauce, only the sauce was thin. I didn't have any lemon juice, and I used center cut pork chops, and it still came out good. - 9/30/08

I made this with the Italian Vegetable bake receipe i found on here, and it was wonderful. The flavor was awsome, i did use bonless pork ribs instead of chops...i couldnt find any good chops at the store. Kids and husband loved the flavor! Thanks for sharing! - 9/29/08
