Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup biscuit/baking mix
    1 tablespoon sugar
    3/4 cup milk (I used 1%milk)
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    4 whole eggs, fresh large
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and diced

Directions

In mixing bowl combine biscuit mix, sugar, milk, eggs, syrup, and 1/2 cup cheese. Mix well. Pour into greased 13x9x2 baking pan. Bake uncovered at 425 degrees for 10-15 min. or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Sprinkle with bacon and remaining cheese then bake additional 3-5min. until cheese is melted. Serve with syrup if desired.

Makes around 12, 3in servings

We have made this recipe with crumbled sausage, it changes the nutritional value but it is still great either way. Enjoy.

There are a couple comments about the picture not matching. This happens frequently and I find it a bit annoying. It's hard to believe that someone in the Sparkpeople kitchen can't take out their cellphone to take a picture of the recipe they just made. Come on Spark Guy help us out! - 12/26/14

Honestly, the picture of this recipe looks like there are sliced potatoes on the top. I was hoping to find a breakfast casserole that included potatoes. - 9/11/14

There's no way you can get 12 servings out of this so the nutrition info is not correct. It's only 4 eggs and 1/2 lb of bacon so that isn't going to feed 12 people unless they only eat a tablespoon of it. It would be more accurate to say it's 4 servings at almost 600 calories each - 12/30/15

I've made this recipe a couple of times and it came out great every time! For those needing this meal to be lower in calories, a few substitutes like turkey bacon, no calorie sugar, etc. and the calories will drop by nearly 50 calories a serving! - 7/31/12

This was so very yummy! I actually cooked the bacon beforehand, and then mixed it in and baked it into the casserole, it was like eating an eggy biscuit with bacon maply goodness! :) - 7/13/11

I fixed this today for breakfast. It was very easy to prepare. I did bake the bacon first in the oven. My whole family loved it. I think that next time I make this I will omit the sugar as the syrup adds enough sweetness to it. Thanks for sharing. - 1/25/09

First let me say that I do not think it's fair to give a recipe a low rating because SP puts a wrong picture of it. Second, the recipe sounds good but I'm not sure how it could be 12 servings so I don't think the calories can be correct. but I may try it because it sounds good. - 12/26/17

I am with FERRNIE: First look at the picture, it looks like it has sliced potatoes in it. That would change the calories and carbs in the nutritional info. - 10/25/15

This recipe was really good! I used turkey bacon because that's what we had in the house. I didn't add extra syrup, but my husband and our room mate both found it a bit dry, so they did. To quote our room mate, "IT'S LIKE AN OVERSIZED PANCAKE WITH CHEESE AND BACON AND HAPPINESS!" - 2/11/14

I cooked this recipe this morning with some substitutes like I made homemade bisquick using finely grind pretzels. I also added red peppers, onions and mushroom. Also used mozzarella cheese along with cheddar. I also exchange bacon with turkey sausage. It was oh so good. Thanks for this recipe - 9/8/13

Regarding the picture, that baking dish is certainly NOT a 13X9X2 as stated in the recipe. I agree; make the picture match the recipe being given.

Interesting recipe, but I don't see how this could feed 12 people - maybe 4 people. This was very easy to put together and tasted good but don't see me making this again (and mine didn't look anything like the picture here)

Looks like one to try. You could subsitute potatoes for the biscuits which cuts the calories. Also use turkey bacon or sausage for the meat and it makes a great breakfast meal too. - 12/26/17

It was delicious. I might have overcompensated because some of the comments were that it was dry. I added a bit more milk, a quarter cup more maple syrup, and an extra egg. It was delicious, but think I would add a tad less milk. - 5/28/17

I love this recipe & have made it several times. It is great when you are craving for Breakfast for Dinner as well as a lazy weekend brunch. I speed up my prep time by pre-cooking bacon and freezing it in batches. Then when the craving hits, I can pull out the bacon crush and I am ready to go. - 12/27/16

I just made this and ate a slice. It's ok. Reminds me of French Toast on thick. Will make a great breakfast for work. Next time I will put more cheese on the inside and less on the outside. - 10/18/15

I haven't tried this recipe and it sounds delicious (as a vegetarian I would use Morningstar Farms bacon or sausage), however, I have to question the nutritional statistics. With the baking mix and the maple syrup, are there really only 15g carbs/serving? Is it because of the serving size? - 12/30/14
