This is one of my family's favorite meals. We make it at least once a week. It's great with some tortilla chips and cheese or corn bread. Definitely worth a try. Also its great for entertaining. - 1/10/08

My husband and I both loved this recipe!
We made a veggie version, with the morningstar burger crumbles. I also did a "home-made" taco seasoning mix, rather than use the packet mixes they sell at the grocery store.

    Thanks for sharing this one!

Mmm-mmm! I made this on the stove top as opposed to crock pot. Small changes for our tastes: used only two cans of beans (pinto and kidney) that were rinsed, substituted tomato sauce for diced tomatoes. Added a touch of water and additional chili seasoning. Hubby gave it an 8 out of 10! - 2/4/08

I loved it, but I think I used too much chili powder in my taco seasoning. My roommate are discussing trying it with one more can of corn, some red peppers and one less can of beans to give it a more southwestern flair. - 7/22/10

Thought it was salty even though I used low salt tomatos and corn. I would use home made taco seasoning next time without salt. - 1/12/08

I used no sodium added beans to keep the salt level down. Very tasty, and as another person noted we added a few crunched up multi grain tostitos, salsa and fat free sour cream for garnish. - 12/19/07

Super yummy, I'll be making more this weekend! I used 93% fat free turkey and it was fine. I also used Rotel tomatoes and that added a welcome kick! Served over a couple of crunched up whole wheat tostitos with a teeny bit of cheese on top. A new FAVE! - 12/12/07

This looks delicious but the sodium content needs to be worked on. I may try it using no salt added beans and tomatoes and taco seasoning. - 4/20/21

Yummy yummy yummy! I found it a little salty, hence the four stars, but my husband would definitely give this 5! You can tweak the saltiness depending on the taco seasoning you use, too. Great, easy recipe! - 2/11/13

We had this tonight and it was delicious and smelled great! We made it meatless by using a meat substitute...crumbles. Tasted great and made a huge pot. I had one cup and we think that it's approximately 2 cups per "serving." - 11/9/12

We loved this! I had dried beans and used fresh tomatoes and corn since they are in season and it was delicious. I did add a packet of taco seasoning, but also added a little more chili powder and cumin for extra flavoring. We threw a bit of cheese, sour cream, and corn chips on top for garnish. - 8/29/12

All seven who ate this loved it - good thing I made a big pot! It really had no broth, so I added some vegetable broth. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it has so few veggies in it, so we had veggies on the side. I left out the packet of Ranch. Good stuff!!! - 7/24/11

Pretty good, but very salty. I'm wondering how it would taste w/just the taco seasoning and not the hidden valley ranch...may try that next time. Thanks for the recipe though! My 2-year-old loved it! - 10/18/10

The taste is reminiscent of chili--very good. We used ground turkey instead of beef, and I added a little extra water. Overall, it was very tasty and great with corn muffins. The smell will starve you to death if you are at home all day though! - 10/29/07
