I have made these bars twice now. I use Kashi cereal (puffs last time, crunch this time). I use dried cherries instead of craisens/cranberries. I also found some DARK chocolate chips and use them. I also use a square baking pan. Make sure you grease your baking pan--I use pam and spread it around. - 7/13/10

Very yummy, but I would give one tip. Use a square baking pan. The recipe doesn't make the pan size clear and I assumed 16 bars would be a rectangular pan and it was too big. - 4/19/10

THESE BARS WERE DEEEEELICIOUS! I followed the recipe exactly except I added a handful of sliver almonds for a little more protein/healthy fats, and for the 1 c. of cereal I used Kashi Original GoLEAN. :) They taste like the fall dessert by Chex, "muddie buddies"! SO GOOD! - 7/27/09

Even my extra picky boys didn't complain about these! They are great. I used some crushed pretzels because I didn't have any cereal, came out really good! - 8/21/10

These are tasty. I reduced the amount of brown sugar because I didn't want these to be too sweet. I also added crystallized ginger and that adds a nice contrast. - 4/3/10

Excellent! The only trouble I had was cutting them into bars- they were really sticky (but tasty!)
    Thanks for sharing:)

I just made these and couldn't resist trying one before it was completely set up. They are SO yummy! Remind me a bit of the chocolate/oatmeal no-bake cookies. I don't think I could make these often as they are so good that they would likely be a "red-light" food for me. Thanks for the recipe. : ) - 1/27/10

I love these...and 16 makes big bars, so they easily can be halved. I will make these again using less molasses - 8/18/09

Very good and easy to make! I did make changes based on what I had - I used 1 1/2 cups oatmeal and 2 total raisin bran cereal. I also used raisins instead of cranberries. Glad I tried these :D - 7/22/09

These are very easy to make and yummy. I will have to see how filling they are to because they are on the higher calorie side for a snack. I put some in the freezer to see if that works because it makes a lot for one. - 7/5/09

Are you using craisins or fresh cranberries in this recipe? Just wondering before I give it a try. - 7/1/09

I used sweetened dried cranberries, though fresh cranberries might be tasty (especially if you like a less sweet granola bar)

This was so good. Love having these around to eat with my coffee in the morning. Hubby loves taking them with him to eat when he is trucking. I try to fix him a lot of Healthily treats when he is on the road. - 8/22/19

I used dried cranberries, the recipe didn't say but I don't like fresh cranberries. The bars were fine. Stored them in the refrigerator so they wouldn't mold. - 7/15/18

Read all the comments and can't wait to try this recipe. I love molasses so I think I will leave the molasses level as is for now. I have Special K cereal on hand so I might try that for the cereal portion of the recipe. Will let you know. - 6/8/13

Excellent and so easy to make. I did use a cooking spray in my pan so they wouldn't stick and agave nectar instead of honey. - 4/3/12

Used honey nut cheerios - very good although the molasses flavor is definitely noticeable and I haven't quite decided if that is good. Will see what the kids say later today when they get to sample. - 2/3/12

Very Yummy! I accidently scorched the bottom of the pan I was boiling everything in, so they have a bit of a funky taste. LOL! Next time I won't and I know that they will be fantastic!! :o) - 2/10/11

I'm a Tupperware consultant and I was researching granola bar recipes because we have a brand new product coming out mid-february. It's a granola bar shaper and granola bar container to take them on the go with you. - 1/28/11
