I chopped an onion and a couple cloves of garlic instead of using powders. I added a carrot, crushed red pepper, bay leaves and healthy doses of dried thyme and red wine vinegar. Absolutely delicious. - 3/24/12

    Incredible!
I made this soup in the crockpot overnight on low. I substituted tomato juice and some cut up fresh tomatoes from the garden for the crushed tomatoes. It smelled so good I couldn't wait till lunch to try it!! It is delicious!! Great recipe. - 8/19/11

    Very Good
I made a few changes in the spices, and added more veg (onion & extra celery). It is great! It worked well with white kidney beans as well. Could work great with any wild red meat I think. - 8/17/11

    Very Good
This was very tasty! My family was skeptical when I named the ingredients but they really enjoyed it. I used venison instead of the elf suggested by one rater :) added half an onion (while the venison was cooking) and added a can of tomato soup as suggested. - 1/1/11

    Incredible!
Really good!! I put 1/2 an onion in too and then cooked it in my crock pot. It seemed a little "weak" tasting so I added a can of tomato soup. I used 1 can rotel tomatos & 1 can regular canned tomatos. Last minute I added corn. Thanks for great recipe! (LOL-I didn't have any "elf"-see below) - 9/11/09

    Very Good
This was a great, easy recipe using ground venison (although beef or bison or elf would work too). It made the whole house smell yummy. We will definitely make it again. - 7/23/09
