Introduction

This is a great substitute for ice cream, my weakness! This is a great substitute for ice cream, my weakness!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup frozen strawberries (or mixed berries)
    1 banana
    1 tbsp vanilla extract

Directions

Blend all ingredients in a food processor and freeze until ready to eat.
I like to divide it up into 1/2 cup serving dishes before freezing, that way when I am craving a creamy, frozen treat it is pre-portioned!

Number of Servings: 4

Wow! Awesome treat on a hot day. I followed KLYNSKY and stirred it a few times as it froze. I used vanilla instead of plain yogurt and it was still great. - 7/11/08

I used vanilla soy yogurt because that's what I had on hand and added a little sweetener... it tasted like strawberry banana soft serve! Supper Yummy! Can't wait to try it with other fruits! - 7/26/09

Very tasty, but too firm when frozen solid. I'm going to try freezing for only 1-1.5 hrs. I used Greek yogurt and the texture was incredibly creamy! - 8/4/09

This dessert "feels" like soft-serve, and you can sweeten it to taste with splenda. Great low-fat substitute for ice cream. I've made it several times and love it! - 8/23/08

Very good! I stirred every half hour or so while it froze, then froze overnight. By the next day it was hard, but putting it in the fridge while we ate lunch meant that it was the perfect consistency by the time we finished. - 5/19/10

It sounds delicious, but I have a question about the recipe. How big exactly is an 'American' cup? Is it like a big mug or a small teacup? I'm sorry but I'm foreign. - 1/9/10

However I've never found the right recipe this one used things that I always have and my two year old loved it as well. I'm making this alot more. - 7/6/08

Yogurty, and I added a sweet n low because I like it a bit sweeter, and it was hard coming from the freezer. However it tastes great as a smoothie or as a frozen treat. I like it after defrosting for a bit in the microwave. - 7/4/08

Haven't tried it with yogurt, but I love making smoothies - tip, even using just skim milk as the base, FROZEN bananas and frozen berries give it a GREAT soft serve ice cream texture. - 7/4/08

I used Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt (this one is sweetened with Splenda) and cut 20 calories per serving out of it! It's a keeper! I'm getting more 1/2 cup containers and making a bunch to have on hand when I get a sweet craving! - 5/19/08
