I have made this for years but cut the sugar in half and it makes absolutely NO difference in the taste. - 4/7/09

The problem with the calorie count is that the margarine was entered into the calorie calculator as .9 tsp and not as 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons. This error results in a major miscalculation of the calories in each cookie. For this kind of calorie count, I can have some really good dark chocolate. - 1/20/09

Old favorite of my family. I do replace half butter with applesauce, use half as much sugar, add cocoa powder and raisins, and cut some of the calories. Still not a health food. - 11/28/09

these cookies have been one of our favorites for years no, they may not be a staple of your weight loss plan, but i think that home made treats are better for you than processed low cal substitutes...at least you know whats in them. - 4/7/09

Cookies were great. I did use 7 whole grains, by Quaker, and instead of sugar used Sun Crystals-20 packs. I also used DaVinci Sugar free Vanilla Syrup, and Hood Low carb milk. It was excellent. - 1/2/10

I loved these cookies growing up. But the nutritional value in this recipe is misleading. And even if the calorie count were correct, I can't possibly eat just one (especially if it's such a tiny one!). Some things just have to be saved for the splurges. - 4/7/09

I used to make these for my kids when they were little. They are very good. I got 26 cookies because I used the small cookie scoop from Pampered Chef. I allow myself one a day. It satisfies my need for something sweet. - 1/20/09

I have a problem with the consistency of this cookie, they always turn out runny:( I will try again this afternoon) they are my favorites. I agree with the quote of knowing what goes into my childrens snacks and always try to make them from scratch. - 1/10/10

A grandson of mine likes no bake cookies. I will try these for him. His brother says he only get a couple for each batch. He doesn't have the same sweet tooth! - 12/22/09

When I make these, I use chocolate milk and less sugar (about 1 1/2 cups), and only 2 cups each of PB and oats. A little less sweet but still oh so delicious - 8/3/09

    O.K.
I put these same ingredients into the calorie counter and they calculated at least 150 calories/cookie and that is assuming you can get 30 cookies per recipe. So I am not sure where less than 100 calories/cookie is coming from. I love these cookies...but they are NOT good for you! - 1/20/09

Oh my goodness! We have loved these since home Ec in grade school. Has anyone found a way to store them or hide them. Yum Yum! - 1/20/09

Look up No Bakes with Craisins and Splenda and Microwaved. You don't have to add the Craisins. Exact measurements were used. - 1/20/09

    Bad
The ingredients used to come up with calorie count is flawed...tainted if you will. It using less than a tsp on margarine, more than a half cup of milk (.5 is half not .6), and not a full tsp of vanilla either to calculate calories. Make sure you add in more calories for this one to count margarine. - 1/8/09

The classic no-bake cookie still stands the test of time. But, I don't see how you can possibly get 30 cookies from this recipe. I came up with 18. Maybe if you dropped them out with a teaspoon instead of a tablespoon it could make 30. - 11/15/08

Very yummy, but I didn't get 30 servings. Perhaps I made the cookies a little big! I stored them in the refrigerator. - 7/10/08

Good recipe! A different twist to chocolate macaroons. I used brown sugar instead of white and it turned out great!!The kids couldn't wait for them to harden.:) - 7/30/07

    O.K.
I know applesauce can often be substituted for oil in a recipe - can you replace all or part of the butter with applesauce, or any other healthier alternative?

As it stands now, with so much butter and sugar, and so little fiber and protein, it doesn't look like a very healthy option.
