Introduction

This chili is so easy to make and full of flavor and zing! You can alter the recipe and add more veggies or alter the spices to your taste....but making it as-is is super deeelish! Ingredients

    1-1/2 tsp olive oil
    1 lb. of ground Turkey
    1 onion, chopped (or grated)
    2 cups of water
    1 (28 oz) can of canned crushed tomatoes
    1 (16 oz) can of canned kidney beans - drained rinsed and mashed (or whole if you prefer)
    1 Tbsp garlic minced (or grated)
    2 Tbsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp dried oregano
    1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp ground black pepper

    extra ingredients to top with (optional):
    Shredded cheddar cheese
    Red Onion
    Low-Fat Sour Cream

Directions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pan and cook for a minute or two until they are well blended and tender. Add the ground turkey meat, stir with onion and garlic and cook until evenly brown. Set aside.

In a separate large pot, add water and crushed tomatoes and kidney beans over medium heat. Add the browned turkey meat. Mix everything together. Season with the chili powder, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir to evenly distribute ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes - occasionally stirring.

Once done cooking, serve in bowls and garnish the top with the shredded cheddar cheese, onion, and/or sour cream! YUMMM!!!
