Introduction
I decided that it would be not only more fun, but more economical, to make my own hummus. This recipe makes about 3 or 4 cups, and with a serving size of 2 Tbsp, that's alot!As far as cost effectiveness, it actually turned out to be pretty tit for tat, but it was more fun to make it than to buy it! Ingredients

1- 1lb 13 oz can chickpeas (garbanzos), drained and rinsed
1/3 c. (or 6 Tbsp) tahini
1- 12oz jar (6.7 oz drained) red roasted peppers, drained
3 Tbsp olive oil
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 Tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions
***Because I don't have an electric food processor, I used a hand crank food processor and a hand mixer to make this.. But if you do have an electric food processor, by all means use it!
Drain and rinse chickpeas and blend in food processor until fairly smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend until well combined.
