Introduction
This is also a great RAW recipe! Breakfast protein shake based on Jackie Warner's recipe shared on BRAVO TV reality series "Workout". Based on whey (from cow's milk), this recipe is *not* vegan, but we find it very healthy & enjoy it. So far we haven't found any other protein with the same great taste & consistency. Look for whey protein that's *low carb* & *low glycemic*. Jackie's original recipe was for a full scoop (about 21 grams or about 5 teasps) of green powder - but the stuff tastes sooo strong, we reduced to 1 teaspoon, or just leave out (esp. if sharing with kids). Warning: We do not recommend more than 2 or 3 pieces of frozen berries like blackberries, raspberries, etc, or you'll have a mouthful of seeds. Enjoy! This is also a great RAW recipe! Ingredients
-
Frozen fruit - about a cup of strawberries to half-cup blueberries (measure to your taste). Maybe tiny amount of goji berries (bitter) or any berry with seeds; 1 scoop of whey protein powder (we like vanilla), green powder OPTIONAL; 1/2 to 1 teaspn liquid amino acids; & about 1 teaspoon flax seed oil (sometimes we substitute canola). Mix in a mini-blender (perfect with our Magic Bullet), pour it or spoon it, and enjoy. Unless you are mixing for a family or group, using a large, regular-sized blender will make you tend to make far too much! This frozen shake will NOT store well in the fridge. Consistency changes.
Directions
Makes about 2 cups. We call that one portion. No cooking, just mix & drink.
