Introduction

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef
2/3 cups fine bread crumbs
1 large egg
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 - 1 tsp salt
1/2 - 1 tsp black pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Put the ground beef in a large bowl. In a small bowl, beat the egg. Add to the ground beef, along with the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, parsley, and garlic powder. Mix well.
Spray a cooking sheet covered with foil with cooking spray. Form 1.5 inch balls with the meat mixture and place on cooking sheet. Place in center rack of oven and cook for five minutes. Remove from oven, turn over all meatballs, and place back in the oven for another five minutes.
The meatballs are NOT done at this point.
Remove meatballs from oven and transfer to a paper plate covered with paper towels to drain the fat. Meanwhile pour a jar of your preferred pasta sauce in a large saucepan. Place all meatballs in the sauce and turn to coat. Cover the saucepan and simmer the meatballs for 50 minutes to finish cooking.
Makes about 15 meatballs. Serving size = 1 meatball.
