    1-1/4 c. 1% milk
    4 T. Flour
    1/3 c. Light Cream Cheese
    4 T. Parmesan Cheese
    1/4 t. nutmeg
    1/8 t. pepper
    2 T. parsley
    2 t. garlic


Warm milk in pan and add cream cheese until melted. Add 1 T. flour at a time while whisking, add spices. Lastly, add parmesan cheese and whisk until smooth and thickened. Serve over hot pasta or spag. squash.

  • Totally Awesome!!!! I highly recommend, nice and thick and flavorful. I used one tablespoon of fresh minced garlic, and fresh parsley and dried basil. I passed on the nutmeg also, but gave it a generous dash of fresh ground pepper. Just before serving, I sprayed it with a little spray butter. - 1/24/12

  • This was a very good lighter version of alfredo sauce. I used a bit less milk and also added a wedge of Laughing Cow swiss cheese for extra flavor and texture. Delish! - 10/23/11

  • This was delicious. Made with 1/2 lower fat cream cheese and 1/2 spinach artichoke cream cheese. Doubled the recipe but I don't think I really needed to, this made quite a bit. My entire family enjoyed it, even the picky kids. Thanks! - 10/18/11

  • I needed something quick to pull together what I had on hand...pasta, asparagus and shrimp. Delicious! And FAST. I blackened the shrimp for a little extra flavor. This would be good with chicken and other veggies like broccoli, too. THANKS! - 2/22/10

  • I love faux alfredo made with cream cheese. It is much lower in fat and super tasty! Good recipe! I do leave out the nutmeg---just a personal preference. :) - 5/12/08
