Ingredients

Vermicelli - 1 cup
Water - 1cup
Milk (non fat) -2 ½ cups
Ghee - 20gm
Sugar - ½ cup
Raisins - 20
Cashew nuts-10
Almonds - 5
Cardamom powder - A little bit.
Directions
1. Heat the ghee and fry raisins, almonds and cashews till the cashews get a light brown color. Keep them in separate container for later use.
2. Use the rest of the ghee to fry vermicelli till it gets a brown color.
3. In the meanwhile, boil the water. Add the vermicelli to the boiling water and cover it. Keep stirring the mixture. Once the vermicelli becomes soft, add the sugar and continue to stir. Then add milk and cardamom powder to the vermicelli. Then stir the mixture for about a minute. Then add the cashew nuts, almonds and raisins to the mixture. Mix well and boil for about two minutes. Your payasam is ready and can be served hot or cold.
