    Bavarian Beef

    This classic German stew is made with lean trimmed beef stew meat and cabbage.

    INGREDIENTS
    2 lb. lean beef stew meat (trimmed of fat), cut in 1-inch pieces

    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    1-1/2 cup water
    3/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 cup white vinegar
    2 packets of equal
    1/2 small head red cabbage, cut into 4 wedges
    half of a ginger root

Cut meat into 1 inch squares, brown, add onion, apple cider and green onions. Cook down. Then add to crock pot along with red cabbage, cumin, 2 equals
