Introduction

My Grandmother made Sherbet with Kool-Aid all the time when I was a kid. I recently decided to tweek it ...using my yogurt and Jello. The trick is to whip the jello after it has clilled to egg white consistency...then add koolaid and yogurt. It has little fat and little sugar. Ingredients

1 3 ounce package of lime jello
    1cup of boiling water
1 package Kook-Aid unsweetened Soft Drink Mix
    1/2 cup of water (tap)
3 cup of low fat Yogurt (grandma used milk)
1 cup pineapple crushed or tidbits and juice
    1/2 cup splenda or sucralose

Directions

Desolve jello into one cup of boiling hot water stir till desolved completely. Use a bowl or measuring cup that will hold four cups. Refrigerate till egg white consistancy..chill beaters too in the freezer. Do not set too hard or it will not whip. With electric mixer whip jello till volume of around 4 cups...
In another cup desolve Kool-Aid and Splenda into 1/2 cup of water and the pineapple juice from the pineapple don't exceed the 1 cup.....pour the jello whip, Kool-Aid mix, into medium bowl and then add the yogurt and whip till just blended. Pour this into glass 9x13 dish ....drop the pineapple into the lime sherbet...cover with plastic wrap and then freeze... at least 2 hours and maybe more. I say this makes 6 one cup servings. Do not stir in the freezing stage. It may need to set out before dipping.
