Ingredients
-
1 pound of extra lean ground turkey
1 egg
1 slice of whole grain bread
1/2 tablespoon of honey mustard
1/3 cup of finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
pinch of black pepper, to own preference
Directions
Makes eight small patties. Six if you'd prefer them thicker.
Place ground turkey in a large mixing bowl.
Grate the bread, or run it through a blender/mixer to make bread crumbs and add them to the mixing bowl.
Toss in the egg, mustard, onion, and spices. Mix thoroughly with a fork or spoon.
Feel free to add more spice or mustard, based on your own flavour preferences.
Shape into patties, or spoon onto a grill/pan and flatten (they're really messy to handle by hand, but if you're feeling adventurous - go for it). Cook for 5-10 minutes on each side, or until patties are no longer pink in the middle.
These are really good served with sauteed mushrooms and onions, and a little bit of light mayo (spicy Thai mayo and guacamole is really good too).
