Introduction

Stuffed Peppers are a very tasty preparation and for those who enjoy Spicy Food,these are an ideal accompaniment with a serving of steaming White Rice and Dal!!!This is my maternal Grandma--Aaji's rrecipe and for those who don't like it hot---just remove the Seeds---the Taste and Flavour remain without the heat!!! Ingredients

    INGREDIENTS
    500 gms. Bhav Nagri Chillies/Peppers
    STUFFING
    1 cup Moong Dal Flour(or Besan---Chick Pea Flour)
    1.5 tbsps.shredded Raw Coconut
    1 tbsp.Melted Ghee(Clarified Butter)
    2tsps.Coriander Cumin Powder
    1.5 tsps.Goda Masala
    1.5 tsps.Ba-Aaji's Bottle Masala
    1 tsp.Ba-Aaji's Garam Masala
    1tsp.Turmeric Powder
    1 tsp.Aamchoor(Dry Mango)Powder
    1 tsp.Sugar
    Salt to taste
    1 small bunch Fresh Coriander(Cilantro)Leaves
    SEASONINGS
    1tbsp.Ghee
    1.5 tsp.Black Mustard Seeds
    1tsp.Cumin Seeds
    1tsp.Sesame Seeds
    1tsp.Hing (Asafoetida)Powder

Directions

PREPARATION
Shred the Coconut and finely chop the Fresh Coriander Leaves.
In a basin mix all the Ingredients for the Stuffing well.cover and set aside for 10 minutes.
Wash and wipe the Chillies dry.Slit the Chillies and stuff these with the prepared Stuffing.If you don't like these hot and spicy,remove the Seeds before Stuffing them.
METHOD
Heat Ghee in a non-stick Wok on a low flame.Add the Black Mustard Seeds,Cumin Seeds,Sesame Seeds and Asafoetida Powder in the order mentioned.When these sputter,add the Stuffed Chillies/Peppers and saute till all the Peppers/Chillies are covered with the Seasoning Ghee.Cover and steam on low flame till cooked through---Serve piping hot as a part of your Meal.
TIP
These make an excellent Snack as well with Drinks during a Cock Tail Party.
