Introduction

Bread machines are so 90's,but in attempt to eat less processed food, it works well. It is also a crazy dense bread so a little really does go a long way.
This recipe is from Bread Machine Baking by Lora Brody and Millie Apter. The original recipe called for 3 tablespoons of powdered non-fat milk. I didn't have that so I opted to reduce the water and use regular skim milk. Seemed to have worked well.

Number of Servings: 15

Ingredients

    1/3 cup honey
    3 tablespoons nonfat milk, plus enough water to have a total of 1 1/3 cups liquid

    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    3 cups whole wheat flour
    1/2 cups of all purpose flour (or bread flour)
    1/3 cup corn meal
    2 teaspoons yeast (one packet works)

Directions

Place all ingredients in bread machine, program for bread, wheat. If you do not have a wheat bread program, have all ingredients at room temp and use the white bread setting.

It makes about 15-16 slices. One slice is a serving
