Introduction

I have searched for years for a recipe that tastes good! Here it is and vegetarian to boot! I have searched for years for a recipe that tastes good! Here it is and vegetarian to boot!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1/4 c unsweetened cocoa
    1 t instant coffee
    1/4 c sugar
    2 T molasses
    1/2 c currants or dark raisins
    1/2 c golden raisins
    2 medium Granny Smith apples, finely chopped without peel
    3/4 c fresh bread crumbs
    1/4 c chopped walnuts
    1 t vanilla
    1 t cinnamon
    1/2 t allspice
    1/4 t ginger
    1/4 t nutmeg

Directions

Add 1/2 c water to 1st four ingredients in a medium saucepan. Simmer till smooth, stirring to prevent burning. Add fruit, cover, and simmer on low 10 min. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, stirring thoroughly.

Enough for one 9" pie - 8 pieces, or serve cooled in custard cups with whipped topping.

    LOL! You are so correct!!! Ya know when I began eating more plants and eliminating more animal products, I often thought in terms of replacement foods. Not so much anymore.
