Introduction

My husband's favorite. I kept decreasing the sugar until we found a pie that wasn't too sweet but just sweet enough. Kroger Pie Crust is better than any other for flakiness. My husband's favorite. Ingredients

    6 apples, sliced
    1/3 cup sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/8 tsp nutmeg
    1 Tbsp butter

Directions

Put the pie crust in a 9 inch "cake" pan. This will help it keep its shape and it wont run over. Mix the sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg together and toss with the apples. Place in the center of the pie dough. Dot with the butter and fold the pie crust around the top in tart fashion. Bake 50 minutes at 400 degrees. I put a circle of parchment on the top of the crust for the first 40 minutes and take it off to brown the last 10 minutes or until crust is browned. After the pie cools, it is firm enough to remove from the cake pan and place on a plate.
