Introduction

This is STERNENFEE'S Healthy Granola Bars, but I added rice puffs because I happened to have some I wanted to use, and since I didn't have brown sugar, I used white sugar and blackstrap molasses. Ingredients

    3/8 cup boiling water
    1 cup raisins (not packed)
    4 cups puffed rice cereal
2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    2.tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 cups sweetened coconut
1/2 cup mashed banana (one large banana)
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    5 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
    1/2 cup honey
    2/3 cup sugar
    2 Tbsp. blackstrap molasses
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a jelly rool pan. Soak raisins in 3/8 cup boiling water. Allow raisins to plump. Alternatively, you can microwave the raisins in the water on high for 2 minutes. Combine all ingredients. Press into prepared pans. The batter will be very sticky, so you will probably have to have a bowl of water ready to dip spatula in to spread it. Score the batter in the pan to make 32 pieces. Bake 20 mins. Cool in pan 10 mins. Cut into 32 pieces.
