Ingredients

48 Hershey Kisses
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
3/4 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 T. milk
1 teasp. vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teasp. baking soad
1/2 teasp. salt
granulated sugar for dusting
Directions
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees
2. Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl until well blended. Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla- beat well. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly beat into peanut butter mixture.
3. Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie. (Cookie will crack around edges) Remove from cookie sheet and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 4 dozen (48) cookies.
