Introduction
I discovered this by accident while sitting at my desk enjoying some yogurt with frozen berries. I suddenly remembered a box of ginger thins sitting in my desk drawer. The frozen berries, freeze the yogurt and give it the consistency of ice cream and when gooped onto the top of a ginger thin and spread around, it tastes like a sugar cone with a little ginger bite.
Love this. I will probably be buying a lot more vanilla Chobani from this point forward.
I'm sure that you could easily turn this into a nice dessert by spreading the yogurt on the cookies first, placing the berries and almond slivers and popping in the freezer to set. Spreading the yogurt thinly could save some calories also. I discovered this by accident while sitting at my desk enjoying some yogurt with frozen berries. Ingredients
-
Chobani vanilla no-fat yogurt - 6 oz container
.25 cups frozen berries (blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries)
2 tblsp slivered almonds
4 Jules Destrooper Ginger Thin Cookies
Directions
Yields 4 open face sandwiches and some left over yogurt - berry mixture.
Place 4 ginger thins on a plate and open the yogurt container.
Mix the frozen berries into the yogurt which should start to freeze into the consistency of ice cream. Then goop the mixture onto the ginger thins, top with some of the slivered almonds and enjoy. You will probably have left over yogurt - berry mixture - this bonus mxture is calculated into the overall calorie count. You can save some calories by freezing it and using it to make another batch tomorrow.
Alternate: spread the yogurt on the cookies and place the berries on top. Pop in the freezer to set for 15 minutes. Top with slivered almonds once you remove from the freezer and enjoy. You can save the extra yogurt and save some calories by using the extra yogurt for the next treat.
