Introduction
easy, tasty pizza (or stromboli) dough easy, tasty pizza (or stromboli) doughNumber of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
1/4 oz. Dry Yeast
3 cups Flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 cup Water
Italian Spices to taste - I usually add some combination of basil, oregano, garlic powder, etc. A tsp. or so of each, I never really measured those.
Directions
Put ingredients into machine in the order recommended by bread machine instructions.
(Usually, liquids, then spices or other add-ins, then flour, then yeast.)
Run on dough cycle.
Let rise, covered, in oiled pan for 20 minutes for thick crust, or use right away for thin crust.
This recipe is for 1 thick pizza crust, but I have split it in half and rolled it out to make 2 crusts.
Roll out dough, (you can also brush on a mixture of egg and water, or olive oil, before baking to make crust nice and brown) and bake at 450F for about 10 minutes (5 min for thin crust) before adding toppings.
Remove from oven, add toppings and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, or until toppings are hot and bubbly.
Check crust and pizza during baking, as each oven is different, and depending on the thickness of crust, and amount/type of toppings, it could take more or less baking time.
Serving size info entered here is based on 1/8 of dough.
This is also great for stromboli or breadsticks!
