Introduction
This is something I cook when I'm craving baked goods. I didn't come up with it myself, the recipe was part of a diet program in Muscle and Fitness hers several years ago. It really does help. Ingredients
-
1/2 c. applesauce
4 large egg whites
1 scoop protein powder ( I use vanilla soy protein)
Optional:
I splenda packet or
tsp. sugar
dash of vanilla extract
pinch of cinnamon
Directions
Mix together egg whites, protein powder, and applesauce in a bowl.
If desired, add splenda or sugar, vanilla, and/or cinnamon. Other extracts or spices can also be used. Be creative and enjoy!
Cook in a pan or griddle just as you would normal pancakes. Make sure they're done in the middle though, they take a bit longer to cook through. You can make one big pancake, but it's hard to flip so I usually make 3 smaller ones.
Best eaten warm.
