Ingredients

Black Beans (1 15 oz can)
    1 Jalapeno Pepper
2 cups quick oats (you may have to play around with the actual quantity of oats -- start with 1/2 a cup and keep adding until you get the consistency you want)
    2 tbsps ground flax seed
Valentina (or other hot sauce) to taste
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Mash the black beans with a fork. Finely dice the jalapeno. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Start with a 1/2 cup of oats, but you might want to add more until you get a consistency that holds together well.

Grill or fry in a skillet with a little bit of oil over medium heat. These should take about 5-10 minutes, until heated through. Since it's vegan it won't hurt if it's a little undercooked.

    Very Good
I tried 1 cup oats and it was probably a bit too much since they wouldn't hold together. I used bottled jalapenos so I diced those and added liquid from the jar to make the burgers hold together. I made 6 burgers and they were large enough. I liked them! LOVED that they were so simple to make!! - 4/16/12
