Introduction
I love toasted buckwheat. It has a nutty, slightly sour taste that pairs well with oats, sweet dried fruit, and maple syrup. Add nuts for protein and crunch. I love toasted buckwheat. This sounds great! I bought some groats from a health store bin but havent really known what to do with them. I'm not a vegan, but do really enjoy many of the meals that are lower in cholesterol. that said...How to you toast groats, steph? lol sorry..i have no idea what to do with them! - 12/30/12

They usually come toasted in bulk bins, but you can also buy them raw (would be labeled as such) and toast in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant. I like to eat them sprinkled on cereal, with a drizzle of maple syrup if you like extra sweetness. The groats are not sweet.
