Ingredients

    2 cups long-grain rice
    3 tbsp vegetable oil
    salt, pepper, garlic powder
1/2 small can of tomato sauce
    cilantro (optional)

Directions

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan for a minute or two. Add rice & seasonings. Brown rice for about 5 minutes on med-high heat.

Add 2-3 cups water and 1/2 a small can of tomato sauce. You can also add some chopped cilantro for a little added flavor.

Reduce heat to med and cover. Stir slightly occasionally to ensure that the rice does not stick to bottom of pan. If water starts to dry out before rice is fully cooked, reduce heat or add a little more water. Rice should be ready in about 20-30 min.
