Ingredients

10 large apples -peeled and diced
    8 dried figs - dices
1 table spoon of fresh ground cloves
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1 cup of water

Directions

peel and then chop the apples into small squares. Dice the figs and then put apples and figs into a large pot with water. Over simmering heat use a potato masher or other instrument to mash down the apples as they cook down. Add the salt and cloves to the mix. Cook down till it reaches a apple sauce consistency. Let cool then pour onto parchment paper and place in food dehydrator. Dehydrate the product (in my dehydrator it takes about 15 hours) until it reaches a fruit leather consistency. WHen done remove from dehydrator and cut into strips. Store in fridge and eat as desired.
