Introduction
No fancy stuff, just great tasting burgers. No fancy stuff, just great tasting burgers.Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
800g Lean Minced Beef
2 Eggs, beaten
3 Slices of white bread, crusts removed and made into breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp salt
Light cooking spray to cook.
Directions
- The evening before, cut crusts off the bread and cut into small cubes. Leave this out overnight for the bread to go stale. If you do not have time for this, cut up the bread and place it under the grill to very lightly toast the bread. Turn the cubes halfway through cooking. Grilling is not intended to brown the toast, simply to remove the moisture so the cubes should still be white.
- Put the bread into a food processor to make the breadcrumbs. Hopefully, the bread should be stale enough for it not to make a paste. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl empty your mince into it and mash it together with a fork or your hands to make a paste.
- Add to this the breadcrumbs, egg and salt. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are combined. Shape the burgers into 6 equal patties and place in the fridge for a couple of hours to set.
- Spray a little cooking oil in you4r frying pan and cook the burgers for around ten minutes, turning halfway through. Keep cooking until the surface has browned.
Serve on hamburger buns (I have a recipe for these too - search for lalalalily's hamburger buns) with plenty of salad, or without the buns for a lower calorie dinner.
